Bygdøy CC has negotiated very competive prices at Scandic Sjølyst which is a 25 minutes walk – bus service every 10 minutes (Bus 30 to busstop the Vikingshipsmuseum takes 10minutes.) All the social activities will take place at Bygdøy. Further details will follow.

After 5 years with a growing number of registrations, Bygdøy CC has decided to go all out for this year’s Broomstacking. With an increased budget and number of participanting teams, we are happy and ready to stage a ‘’grand’’ event. Bygdøy Broomstacking will be the coming season’s Bonspiel to be part of! Bygdøy Curlinghall celebrates its 50years this year and our ambitions is that this Bonspiel will be the 2022/23 Nordic region's tournament of the year.
We invite any four curlers to participate in the Bonspiel with maximum 32 teams, on a first come first served basis. The Bonspiel kicks off on 25th November with the finals Sunday 27th November. We have 6 sheets available, two at Bygdøy and four at Snarøya. We kick off Friday 25th morning with the finals played on Sunday afternoon at Bygdøy.
The club will make sure that the social side of our great game is also taken care of. Throughout the week-end there will be focus on making this an event for everybody. We will serve good food & drinks at reasonable, discounted prices, Saturday we will host a banquet with live bands, a procession with tourchlights from the rink to Lanternen where we stage the banquet., Pipers who will pipe us in, DJs and a curlers party that we trust will be remembered.
All teams are guaranteed a minimum 3 or 4 matches depending on participating number of teams. Based on 32 participating teams, they will be divded into 8 groups. We will come back to the format when we have the total numbers ready. However we can guarantee that it will not be played accoring to the Schenkelsystem. The Bonspiel will be played according to WCF rules.
There will be cash prizes for the 3 best teams and the winner will have their name engraved in our Broomstacking Throphy. There will possibly be some surpise prizes given to teams at the descretion of the management. During the Bonspiel it will be possible to play dart and for our non-Norwegian teams we will offer some time to get around in Oslo. Darts tournament, quiz, pub- night on Friday and a more formal banquet/dinner Saturday . There will be live bands, DJs so put on your dancing shoes, this in all the true spirit of curling.
Transport between Bygdøy CC and Snarøhallen will be provided. We plan to schedule a shuttle bus service. This will enable us to facilititate all teams to play at both rinks. giving everybody the fairest conditions. The first games of the Bonspiel will take place Friday morning, so keep the day for curling. Already 10 teams have registrered their firm interest, amongst them 4 teams from Sorn CC Scotland, hence there are 22 spots open. If you wish to take part in this years Broomstacking including all the social events we urge you to put you name in as early as possible. The fee is NOK 6000 per team (£ 500, Euro 585) this includes some food and drinks and a discount prices at Saturday’s Banquet.
